The timing belt controls the engine’s valves. If it snaps, the engine can be destroyed, and the repair often costs more than the car is worth. That is why it must be replaced at the manufacturer’s interval, even if it looks fine.
We always replace the full kit with tensioner and pulleys, plus the water pump if it sits behind the belt.

When should the timing belt be replaced?
It depends on the engine. Typically between 60,000 and 240,000 km or after 4-10 years. We look up the exact interval from your registration number.
Why replace the water pump at the same time?
On many engines the water pump sits behind the timing belt. Replacing it at the same time saves the labour of taking everything apart again later.
Does my car have a timing belt or a chain?
